Cozy Cozy Canz-s...

My kitties and I love tuna and so I buy a lot

of this cans, I used to throw them away

until I started to change my mind...

There is no trash, only possibilities!

Cans are resistant and I love rounded shapes

so I have been thinking about what to do with 

them while I was saving them and I realize my kitties

eat a lot! Lol!  

Tuna cans can be smelly so I leave them on a bucket
with soap overnight and then I leave them air dry, this helps 
to remove the smell!

I used felt for "dressing" them, this fabric 

is great for it stays the same way after cutting it so

it`s perfect for this project!

The patterns fo cutting the fabrics come from the 

inside and bottom circle meassurments and from  

 the sides, inside and out, saving patterns is useful for 

making more in the future!

After making some small cans I went for larger ones

with the same steps shown on the video below

and made some for the holidays, they

can be filled with gifts, cookies or anything you can

think of and they can be hanged on the tree if you

attach a wire like I did with these!

This are made with beautiful natural fabrics

some are dyed with soft colors that combine!

One of my favorites is the cheese cloth wich 

looks fantastic after dyed!

The details are important to make this even more 

interesting and beautiful!  

This is a great project for showing someone you 

Love them and you will be giving the message of 

recycling as well!

This is only one idea of many things we can do with

our used cans!

La pasiòn nunca muere

Passion never dies!

Only if we let go but this force may

push anyone who`s brave enough to tap on it!

This are new pages on my fabric journal, I added

some photoshop work and I am loving it! 

The writing says:

Some words from Frida that I

trully treasure, why shoud I want feet if I have 

wings to fly!

Of course she wrote them in a painful moment of

her life and I undesrtand how hard this had most been for her

but this words help me when I feel frustrated and things

get hard, no one will escape the hands of frustration

once or twice or more... but hope is always there

and this words remind me of that!

Frida Bag

While I am making my fabric journal 

wich includes recycled jeans, I had a big

piece of this fabric and decide to make a 

cute bag for my old oil brushes, they are

forgotten in some corner of the studio and

nnow they can stand beautiful in some wall

and they will look fantastic!

They have been replaced and I am not sure

if maybe one day I`ll go back and talk to 

them or with them again,  for now they

have a cool place to rest... 

I`ve used what I`ve been practicing with my 

Fridas and didn`t know how this fabric would react

but I think is cool, maybe I`ll make a jacket

with Frida on the back!

Wouldn`t it be cool to have a collection

of this, I got to make some time for that and 

find the right jacket!

I hope you are inspired and try something new,

step out of the comfort zone and amaze your self

with how wonderful and creative you are,

you just got to do it!

Levitating

Yes, she is levitating! But ho, this wasn`t 

on purpose! Lol!

I am experimenting with this new idea of 

making quilted dolls and of course, I

 don`t know everything about it!

I am not new at sewing but totally new

to quilting wich is a whole fantastic world!

Now I know I have to be really careful 

in the placement of the doll when I am 

attaching her to the background!

There most be a trick to that for even though

I pined her, she moved!  Maybe she 

wants to fly!

But I like the way she turned out even 

though she`s not perfectly standing, the

bright colors and the new techniques on

sewing her is giving me lots to experiment 

with! To be honest this wasn`t easy to make

and  it was at times painful!

Some parts of this process were a lot of fun

like the painting but that`s were I have the

most experience with, sewing in a brand new way

is something I have to keep on experimenting!

Isn`t it exciting to find something you like

and be able to explore it and grow with it?

I do love that! :)

This is how she should be standing originally

but I love the naive feel it gives her from being

tilted, what do you think?  Should I crope it and

frame it straight or keep her the way she turned

 out?  Please vote!

Inner dialog

Here is a new experiment with pencil and 

other media, this time after drawing my

beautiful invented girl, I added a little guesso

over the light areas of course letting the back-

ground show wich is a collage of beautiful 

vintage music sheets wich I love!

Then to add a higer contrast I used a black stabilo,

wich I rubb with my fingers and difusses with the

shadows from the pencil already there...

To end it, I added some transparent acrylics around her

to bring color and contrast and some touches in white

to the hair, dots are my favorite way to add sparkles 

around my paintings!  I love sparkles! I just have to 

have them! Have you noticed? :)

After so, following my sewing inspiration at this

time, I wanted to transfer this into my fabric so

I worked on the image in photoshop first,

 printed it on fabric and then sewed it onto another

painted piece and I just love it!

Then I worked on the girl a bit more with some

acrylics and this is the final result wich I think

is gorgeous! What do you think?

I will sell this brand new pieces, I can work 

faster and they can be turned into all kinds of projects

like pillows, hand bags or even frame them as they

are, the only thing is that the maximum size for each 

piece in the center is almost like a regular paper wich is 

8.5 x 11 wich is the maximum size of my printer, I do 

everything my self but hey, isn`t this wonderful?

This are, to me, better than a regular print, for it has 

more hand work on them and that will make each 

piece unique and slightly different, can you make yours...

Yes, of course, but wouldn`t you just love to have

one made by me? :)

A splash of coffe

 I usually drink a lot of coffe but no, I didn`t drop it accidentally,

on this piece!  This idea came from my doll making period were I

leaned that one can make the fabrics older by dyeing with coffe 

or tea, so I was working on this piece on a loosen fabric, I drew 

with pencil a face then I stiched around some lines and loved it...

I wanted to add more color but wanted to keep it simple and I 

don`t know why I though of coffe so I grabed some brushes and 

started to paint with instant coffe! Am I crazy already? 

I love it, the smell is wonderful  and it had an ethereal look I 

didn`t want to ruin it but I wanted to add color in the cheeks and 

this morning I added them with some beautiful watercolor

pencils and voila! She has color but in a soft way!

I am working with a very simple stiching machine, and I am

impressed by all I can do with it, I have seen very impresive 

machines and how technology has advance this days and of

course I would love one but creativity has no limits nor my 

desire to learn so I work with what I have and make the best 

out of it! If I believe, it`s possible!
