Viva Mexico!

We celebrated Mexico`s independence day on September 15th
and my family and I usually go out and have a walk in some
fun places, this time we went to Coyoacan, this is were Frida Kahlo
used to live, many people come to walk and taste tons of delicious
Mexican dishes, desserts and goodies!  Here is a peek! ;D

We now enjoy of free bicycles to go around the neighborhood, ain`t that cool?

Even pets were dressed for the occasion! ;D

Delicious bread, my favorite is made of pecans!!

I loved the paper dolls that were hanging all over!

Awesome advertisement!

They make this out of sugar, it`s lovely to see how they get bigger and bigger!

And the beautiful apples are a super tasty treat!

My favorite ride!! ;D

Of course the guys needed to try this!

I found this cutie pie and had to take a photo, she`s just adorable!

If you aim right you can make this dolls dance! Lol!

I had to try and show the guys who is in charge here!! ;D

A delicious Mexican food restaurant to celebrate our day, its hard to
decide what to have but thankfully, we have all year to try all of the
dishes! ;D

I hope you enjoyed the photos!
Cheers!

A walk in the park!

I love taking walks and I want to share one that this time took
place in the huge park named Chapultepec, a nahuatl name,
one of the many original lenguages spoken in Mexico.

This park is very old and it was created in part by nature and by the
people in this city, it is said it`s the largest urban parks in latin America!
It has many areas but I just visit one at a time for it is huge!  This time we
visited the lake...

In there you can rent a boat, some have the shapes of beautiful swans
like these, they are run with pedals, good legs exercise!

My brother and I took the traditional ride, one that has paddles, also
a good exercise but believe me, yo have tou be coordinated!

Sweet ducks passing by...

Here I am having lots of fun, trying to make the boat move! I just
could go on circles! Lol!  But you can tell I didn`t take it seriously!

The view around the park, you can walk by and have a nice ice cream!
Lots of people and nice weather, everybody is just relaxing!

I caught a crane, she was so peacefully there but as we got closer she
decided to go the other way! She looked at us wondering what we were up to!

Then it was time for some roller skating! One of my favorite hobbies! I have to say
I haven`t done it for a while and took me a while to remember my cute tricks! Lol!

But we had fun, that`s the important!  I have to do this more often! :D

This boats are remote control and people come here to play with them, they are
so beautiful and perfect!

I love bubbles! The are sold over the entire lake and you find cute toys like
this one that I got, a saxophone that blows bubbles! I got it for my kitty but
she got really scared of it! Lol!

Take a virtual tour here and see more of this beautiful park!

I hope you are having a good time! Enjoy life, savor the breeze, taste the flavors
of your surroundings, share with your loved ones & be happy!

Mexico city Tour!

El bazar Sàbado is a crafts market
that offers amazing art pieces to those
who visit wich I most say is a favorite
of turists from all over the world!
It only opens on Saturdays and that`s why
the name... Sàbado!

There are many wonderful restaurants
with delicious mexican buffets and of course
I visit often, the bad thing about it, is that there
is so much food you can`t try it all!

The roof is covered by the mexican flag
wich i love the way it looks, at breakfast and
already inspired by many colors!

The actual market recieves you with this colorful
dispaly of hand made paper flowers aranged
in beautiful baskets, some flowers are huge!
The wonderful couple that sells them are working
right there and they let you take a glimpse into
how they are made!

Wonderful designs based on traditional clothing
are offered, I would love to have this one!
This is the kind of clothing Frida Kahlo used
to wear!

I found a painting of her in the restaurant
the interesting part is that is made in black
 and white!

A huge milagro stands out from many
tiny milagritos, this are a great present to bring
back home and I love them and collect them!

This is a display of miniatures, so tiny
so perfect, you want to take them all!

One of my favorite elements:
the mermaid in la Loteria,  La Catrina
and La Virgen de Guadalupe

An altar is offered in the big center patio of the market!
This would be nice to paint!

Amazing sculptures, this is just a glimpse!

My favorite, shadow boxes!

More miniatures, how much work!

Outside the place there is a huge display of
traditional candies to accompany you while you shop!

Yummy! :D

I`ve also taped a video to show you more,
there is a lot in this part of the world!

I hope you enjoy it, I made it for the Artful Gathering
as an introductory video for my upcoming workshop that
is inspired by Frida Kahlo and Mexican colors,
this is the actual project that I will be sharing
from cero to end, isn`t it gorgeous?

I now leave you with the video  I made, it shows a bit about me, my studio  and my beautiful inspiring city wich I love!
