Christmas ornaments recycling the TPR

Hello sweets!!  As promised, here is a new tutorial using the
toilet paper rolls, from now on, TPR!  This time we will create
some Christmas ornaments but they can be easily changed into
any season just by changing colors and embellishments!

If you haven´t yet read the post about how to save your TPR, please
read about it and join the fun of recycling and making art here!

I decided since I was making houses, why not use the same idea
again but this time you will need two house shapes for each ornament,
I choose the best sides of each to face outwards, then glue them
with gel medium or you can use glue of course!

Then I cut the opening, the size depends on the image you will
put inside and how much you want to see of it...
the remains will be used for some cute tags in my presents!

Then add a coat of guesso...

And paint them in your favorite Christmas colors!

One is gonna be the front and the other the back, then sandwich
the image between them and glue everything, I used heavy gel
medium for it had to be a stronger glue!

The let them dry under a heavy object, I used some glass so they
dry flat...

When they dry is time to embellish!  I used medium as my glue,
then attached a ribbon, then some stars, glitter and words...
the medium or white glue will dry clear!

In the top you can add a bigger star or other adornment, I love gold
so I mixed up two kinds of stars!

To end, use some heavy gel medium for the string to hang it,
it will take a while to dry so let them sit facing down in a way
that you don´t ruin the front and that´s it, you can make as
many as your inner artists desires!  Invite friends to do this
with you in a party were you can exchange them and enjoy
the fun of making these together! ;)

The table will be a mess for sure but there will be hours of fun!

I hope you enjoyed the process and that your hands and heart are happy
creators of fabulous ornaments this Christmas!
I love you!

A different christmas tree for this year and new paintings for sale!

I found this idea over pinterest and loved it and this year
I decided to try it so I started collecting branches from my street,
this past week they came to cut the tops of the trees so this was
really convenient for me and I went for the larger branches I wanted!

I also collected some pines and painted them with white acrylic paint
and even made a star with smaller branches, first using my heat gun to
keep in place and then using a rustic cord attached all of the tips.

It was a fun activity that maybe done with children and it took me
about an hour to put it all together once I had the materials ready!

I still plan on adding some hand made ornaments once I finish them
but so far it looks lovely wouldn`t you agree?

The best part of it all, it was super cheap, I spend only on the lights
and what I love about it is that it looks modern but rustic, I love it!

I have a pinterest wall here about branches that has many ideas
on what to do  with them, it`s awesome to learn about all the things
you can do with what you have around, it only takes that you use
your imagination!

How can that not be fun?

Do you have all of your christmas presents yet?  I have added
new  paintings over my Etsy shop if interested!  Some are brand new some
I had a hard time letting go, anyway I know they will melt your heart!

A simple Christmas!

I haven`t had much time lately to give my home
the cozy feeling of Christmas and it was time to
put up the Christmas tree so I came up with this idea
for some quick, simple adornments, I am sharing with
you, maybe you wanna give it a try!

Here is what I used:
Some craft sticks for kids
rubber stamps
black and brown inks
a cropadile or a hole punch and eyelets
golden lace

You can make your own stamps as well!

I made a hole on the top of the stick, sometimes
a few broke but very few, being quick and precise
really helps so don`t be afraid!

stamping was the fun part!

Then inked with brown to make them look older... see the difference?

Add the eyelets and golden lace, voila, they are
ready to hang!  You can also use them to personalize
some gift tags or use them for other crafty things!!

I hope you enjoy making them!!

and combining with other elements!

If you haven`t read my altered tea bags tutorial, make sure to do so
here so you can make some too!  They are a lot of fun, you will be
recycling and they are just beautiful!!

Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!
