Painting from a stamp!

I love finding new ways to paint, I`m in the
constant search of inspiration and trying new
things that keep awake my muse and I made
a class about one of my favortie techniques
wich is painting form a stamp!  The class
uses an atc as an example, a cool way to make
them and trade real pieces of art!

Many find it hard to draw but enjoy a lot the
process of painting and this is a cool way to
get started! Once you stamp you start adding
the corresponding shades and lights to make
the shapes look more realistic!

I did this one in my altered book, remember
the one I told you earlier? The big fat encyclopedia,
I love seeing the words behind her, adds lots
of texture and sometimes you find a great word
that can go highlighted in the work!

The only thing you have to be careful if
you are using acrylics is not add too
much paint or else it will be stock when
you close the book! What I do if I add
too much is to sand the work a bit but
I use little paint from the beginning or
if I got carried away I attach an acetate
between pages!

If you would like to take this free class
and learn more about this technique,
you are very welcome to join us!

Enjoy your weekend!

  2. Ooh that's a technique I never thought of! I can't wait to try it out. I can imagine big stamps like that with faces are quite expensive though?
